San Diego County Credit Union third quarter 2019 shows continued customer base growth

SAN DIEGO, CA (November 7, 2019) — San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, releases positive third quarter financial results for 2019. SDCCU reported that return on assets remains strong at 1.15 percent year-to-date through September 2019. Additionally, SDCCU’s customer base continues to grow at 4.96 percent over the same time period in 2018.

SDCCU’s net-worth-to-assets ratio for the third quarter was 16.31 percent, well above the 7 percent minimum capital level required for credit unions to be regarded as “well-capitalized” as specified by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). The NCUA is an independent federal agency that charters and supervises federal credit unions and insures savings in federal and most state-chartered credit unions in the United States.

Approximately 12,000 people turned out at SDCCU Stadium on June 15 to properly dispose of confidential information, and more than $5,000 was raised for SDCCU Stuff the Bus. Our 2019 SDCCU® Stuff the Bus campaign, held in partnership with the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) and iHeartMedia radio stations, collected a total of 6,895 filled backpacks, over 3,000 passion planners and a total of 269,503 school supplies for a total value of $329,634 to better prepare students for success as they head back to school this year.
