San Francisco FCU Walks To Fight Breast Cancer

San Francisco, Calif. (September 30, 2011) – San Francisco Federal Credit Union raised over $2,500 for the fight against breast cancer during September.

In a month-long drive, San Francisco Federal Credit Union staff conducted a variety of activities to collect funds and raise awareness for breast cancer. The Credit Union raised funds through a Giants’ ticket raffle, Wear Pink day, and a talent show, in which acts solicited sponsorships from fellow employees to perform in the show. San Francisco Federal Credit Union’s fight against breast cancer culminated at the Susan G. Komen SF Race for the Cure on Sunday, September 25. Twelve employees took part in the 5K walk/run on the Embarcadero.

Many staff members at San Francisco Federal Credit Union know someone who is currently fighting breast cancer, has defeated the disease or has lost the battle. Staff joined together to raise awareness, support those in their fight and honor those who have passed.

“It was such a pleasure to see how involved our credit union employees and members were for such a great cause. This is an example of how a small effort, from a collective group, can make a big difference,” Cindy Lee, Marketing Specialist and Chair of the San Francisco Federal Credit Union Breast Cancer Drive.
