San Francisco Federal Credit Union rewards Youth Jobs+ members
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 6, 2015) — San Francisco Federal Credit Union, a not-for-profit, member- owned financial institution serving San Francisco and San Mateo Counties, awarded one of their Youth Jobs+ members, Clarisse Flores, with an iPad miniTM 2 this week.
San Francisco Federal Credit Union was the chosen financial institution for the Youth Jobs+ Program this year. The program is a San Francisco-wide summer program aimed at assisting teens and young adults in their summer jobs. It focuses specifically on underserved youth in the city, such as those in foster care, in the justice system, from low-income communities, and those who do not have right-to-work documents.
The Credit Union assisted the program participants with managing their finances, including opening a Savings Account, getting an ATM card, and offering access to financial education resources. They hosted a contest throughout the summer to reward those Youth Jobs+ participants who chose to visit a branch and speak with a Financial Services Representative about their finances and how to manage their money.
“We wanted to encourage and reward our youth members who actively sought advice and guidance from our staff,” said President and CEO, Steven Stapp. “We are excited to continue our relationship with our youth members and introduce smart money management practices at a young age.”
San Francisco FCU also offers several youth-oriented products and services including youth checking, savings, workshops, and scholarships. To learn more about the Credit Union visit their website, SanFranciscoFCU.com./youth.
