GREENVILLE, SC (May 7, 2014) -- The American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) has named SC Telco Federal Credit Union a “Champion of Learning” organization for its Employee Training Week in December 2013.
To be awarded ASTD’s Champion of Learning an organization must promote an awareness campaign for one week in December, highlighting the important connection between learning and achieving organizational results. SC Telco Federal Credit Union kicked off its Employee Learning Week activities with an email blast the week before, sharing the upcoming week’s activities and opportunities. Employees received a care package with brain food snacks, a learning quote, and an illusion picture. Employees also participated in an intranet scavenger hunt, and the newly hired were encouraged to attend a full day of training: Value Day Training. The credit union also offered many other daily activities to encourage employee learning.
Tammy Anderson, Director of Education & Development said, “Education and training are at the forefront of everything we do at SC Telco, but we wanted to take just one week and really drill it down for the employees while also making it a fun experience. Our employees really enjoyed it!”
SC Telco Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1935 as a not-for-profit financial cooperative with over 44,000 members and $262 million in assets. Headquartered in Greenville, SC, the credit union has branches in Easley, Spartanburg, Columbia and Florence.
