The Board of Directors of the Kare Youth League, a non-profit youth organization that operates in the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire, awarded the 2019 Kare Community Award to SCE Federal Credit Union Branch Manager George Silva at the organization’s annual Invitational Brunch, held in the Lexus Dugout Club at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, May 4.
The Kare Community Award recognizes one individual each year who has given an extraordinary level of support to the Kare program and other worthy causes throughout the San Gabriel Valley. George Silva and SCE Credit Union have supported Kare Youth League on projects large and small including its most recent and largest capital project, Kare Park in Irwindale, CA. He has also volunteered his time supporting Kare’s members by umpiring youth baseball games.
“Mr. Silva and SCE Credit Union’s faithful support of our boys’ and girls’ program has been an inspiration to us all,” said Kare Youth League Development Director Dave Carson. “George is a great guy and we are so honored to present George Silva with the Kare Community Award.”

Colleagues who have worked alongside Silva comment he is an invaluable member of any team and one who will take on not only his own significant role, but also handle other needs that may arise. He is generous, dependable, loyal and always a gentleman.
“We’re incredibly proud of George Silva,” said SCE Federal Credit Union President and CEO Dan Rader. “On a daily basis, year after year, George embodies the credit union’s mission to improve the lives of our members, our communities and our team.
