SDCCU Financial Wellness Wednesdays presents elder financial abuse prevention webinar
Former San Diego County Deputy District Attorney Paul Greenwood hosts webinar to help reduce the risks of falling victim to elder financial abuse
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 7, 2021) — San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), one of California’s largest credit unions, will host “Elder Financial Abuse Prevention,” a complimentary educational webinar presented by former San Diego County Deputy District Attorney Paul Greenwood on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. The online webinar format allows the community to attend from the comfort of their home and is part of SDCCU Financial Wellness Wednesdays.
Online activity has increased dramatically since the pandemic, especially among seniors. During the webinar, Greenwood will cover current financial scams targeting seniors, red flags to watch for, new ways digital currency fraud and how to keep you and your loved ones protected from becoming a victim. With more than 25 years of experience and having been involved in the prosecution of over 600 felony cases of elder and dependent adult abuse, Greenwood is a renowned, award-winning prosecutor. He’s been head of the Elder Abuse Prosecution Unit since 1996 and is currently co-chair of the California District Attorney Elder Abuse Committee. He’s been featured on both CBS’s “Eye on America” and NBC’s “Nightly News.” Over his career, he has been acknowledged with numerous accolades, including the “Visionary for Change” Award, San Diego County Bar Public Service Attorney Award and the Professional Leadership Award by the Elder Financial Protection Network.
