SDCCU President and CEO, Teresa Campbell, named among 2023/2024 Women of Influence

SD Metro Magazine recognizes San Diego’s top female business leaders

SAN DIEGO, CA (January 25, 2024) — San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), one of Southern California’s largest locally-owned financial institutions, is pleased to announce that SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Campbell was selected as a 2023/2024 Woman of Influence by SD Metro Magazine. This award recognizes the top women business leaders who have made significant positive contributions to San Diego’s workplaces and communities.

Campbell is a strategic and effective leader who cares about advancing the credit union movement and enhancing lives by offering innovative financial products and services and financial education. Under Campbell’s leadership, SDCCU’s customer base has more than doubled, reaching over 436,000 customers, with assets that have grown from just under $5 billion to more than $13.5 billion. She is an effective and compassionate leader with a keen strategic vision that has helped catapult the credit union into excellence.

Campbell has earned a number of notable awards for her accomplishments and leadership in the time she has been with SDCCU. Recently, she was named one of San Diego Business Journal’s 500 Most Influential People, selected as a Gold Stevie Award winner for Women in Business, named among SD Metro Magazine’s Women of Influence for the third consecutive year, honored as one of American Banker’s Most Powerful Women in Credit Unions and selected to receive the 2022 California Nevada Credit Union League (CCUL) Distinguished Service Award. In 2021, she was honored as San Diego Business Woman of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal, recognized with a Stevie Award for Women in Business and selected for a Business Leadership Award from the North San Diego Business Chamber.

With over 30 years of experience in the credit union industry, 13 of which are in San Diego, Campbell is well respected for her leadership and affecting positive change not only locally, but also by industry peers. Campbell serves on the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation, CU Advisory Committee. She served a two-year term, 2018 to 2020, on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Credit Union Advisory Council. She has also served as the 2012 and 2013 Board Chair of the California Credit Union League and in 2022 and 2023 was the Board Chair of the National Credit Union Foundation.
