SDCCU surprises community with free gas through random acts of kindness

Pop up events held across San Diego County

SAN DIEGO, CA (April 10, 2026) |

San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), one of Southern California’s largest locally-owned financial institutions, will host a series of SDCCU Free Fuel Fridays, Random Acts of Kindness events on April 10 at gas stations throughout San Diego County, surprising drivers by filling up their tanks at no cost in an effort to support local communities and easing everyday costs, especially with Tax Day approaching.

“Everyday costs like gas can quickly add up for families across our community,” said SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Campbell. “As a not-for-profit financial institution and member-owned credit union, we are committed to finding meaningful ways to support our communities. We’re proud to offer this initiative to help ease the financial pressure many are facing.”

SDCCU’s Random Acts of Kindness initiative reflects the credit union’s ongoing commitment to putting people before profits and supporting the communities it serves. During the events, SDCCU team members will randomly select vehicles and cover the cost of a full tank of fuel, creating unexpected financial relief during a time when gas prices continue to rise.
