El Paso, TX (April 27, 2026) |
Raiz Federal Credit Union is celebrating the discovery of the second “Golden Coin” as part of its Find the Golden Coin initiative in honor of Financial Literacy Month.
The second golden coin was found at Raiz’s Joe Battle Branch on the afternoon of April 20, 2026, continuing the excitement of a program designed to make saving engaging and meaningful for young members and their families. The lucky find was made by Azalea, a young Raiz member, during a visit to the branch.
As part of the program, a limited number of piggy banks were distributed, with a select few containing a hidden “golden coin” valued at $100. The experience introduces children to saving in a way that feels interactive, rewarding, and memorable.
“This continued excitement is exactly what we hoped to see,” said Max Villaronga, President and CEO of Raiz Federal Credit Union. “Moments like these help bring financial education to life, not just for the child who finds the coin, but for families across our community. It reinforces that saving can be exciting, meaningful, and something to celebrate.”
This effort is part of Raiz’s broader commitment to financial education, offering families practical tools and experiences that help children build confidence with money from an early age.
With two coins now discovered, the momentum continues to build as more golden coins remain hidden across Raiz branches.
Additional golden coins are still waiting to be found, giving young members more opportunities to experience the excitement of saving firsthand.
Raiz encourages families to continue participating and take advantage of the resources available to support financial learning at home and in the community.
Disclaimer: The “golden coin” is a promotional item and does not contain real gold. Members who find a golden coin will be awarded a $100-dollar deposit into their youth savings account.
