SECU holds Statewide Meeting for Financial Services Managers

RALEIGH, NC – A State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) information and learning session brought together nearly 250 Financial Services Managers (FSMs) from across the State for an engaging, power-packed meeting.  The two-day event provided FSMs an opportunity to network with their peers and learn about upcoming changes at the Credit Union.  Motivational guest speaker Denise Ryan of Firestar Speaking addressed the group with an energizing presentation focused on how to lead and change in an organization.  A hands-on activity also reinforced the not-for-profit cooperative’s 7 operating principles.  A panel of Credit Union executives presented to the group, covering topics ranging from Life Insurance Company to the changing role of the branch and branch employee.  A Q&A session provided an open dialogue between FSMs and topic presenters.

Many attendees expressed appreciation for the opportunity to learn more about SECU, its economic future, and the expansion of services to better serve and assist its members.  “Our meeting was motivational, inspirational, and informative,” comments Senior Financial Services Representative, Kathy Doutt, of SECU’s Raleigh-NC State University branch.  “We were provided with the tools to help develop our leader and servant roles and were fortunate to have the opportunity to listen to the hearts of and interact with the men and women who are blazing the path for our Credit Union’s future.”
