RALEIGH, NC (February 28, 2014) -- Through the SECU Foundation, State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) members have extended their support of North Carolina’s annual State Employees Combined Campaign (SECC) with an additional funding commitment totaling $240,000. A $60,000 allotment in each of the next four years will fund the SECC Giving Guide, which lists approved charities of the State employees’ and retirees’ charitable giving program.
“We truly appreciate such a significant investment toward the State Employees Combined Campaign,” states Mary Paisley, N.C. SECC Director. “For the more than 1,000 charities in the campaign, the thousands of SECC volunteers across the State, and the vast number of North Carolinians whose lives will be touched by the causes funded by State employees’ donations during the next four years, a huge thank you to SECU members and the SECU Foundation for their financial support and partnership!”
The announcement of SECU Foundation’s additional four-year commitment was made during the 2013 SECC Recognition Event held at the Governor’s Executive Mansion in Raleigh on February 18th. SECU members and employees were honored with four campaign awards and a plaque in appreciation of their financial support and volunteer service.
SECU Foundation Board Chair McKinley Wooten remarks, “SECU Foundation’s partnership with the State Employees Combined Campaign gives credit union members the opportunity to actively support campaign efforts and our State employees in a fundamental way. SECU members’ additional funding commitment for the Giving Guide is helping to ensure State employees’ donations are devoted to serving North Carolina’s citizens through the charities of their choice.”
