Security Service Charitable Foundation donates $5,000 to Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries
Donation to help the Hill Country Kids Program
SAN ANTONIO, TX (July 13, 2016) — Security Service Federal Credit Union today announced the donation of $5,000 to Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries to support their Hill Country Kids Program. This program strives to enrich the lives of underserved children in need who are living in rural communities. Hill Country Kids Program provides activities, clubs, and healthy food products to enhance the quality of life for children living in poverty.
“The mission of Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries is to transform communities and the lives of those in poverty and the Security Service donation has provided support for a program that helps us live out that mission,” said K. Irene Stone, grants manager for Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries. “We are so thankful that we will be able to continue to provide services for these children to positively impact their lives.”
Many of the children served by the Hill Country Kids Program have parents who work, but low wages and unstable employment leave the families struggling to make ends meet. The goal of Hill Country Kids Program is to combat the effects of poverty on children, contributing to their well-being and enriching their lives. Through mentoring programs, book clubs, and even birthday celebrations, Hill Country Kids Program provides these children with opportunities to grow in a safe and caring environment.
“I have been deeply moved and impressed with the resources and services this organization provides to children and families living in underserved communities throughout the hill country,” said Brandy Ralston-Lint, senior vice president of corporate communications for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “We are honored that this donation will directly benefit those families who need it most and will help to combat the effects of poverty on children.”
Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries administers programs, manages donations, mobilizes community resources and trains mentors and volunteers from more than 60 partner agencies. Together they deliver food, clothing, furniture, diapers, school supplies, and children’s books to struggling families in an eight-county area. With 3,500 volunteers and 27 full time staff, Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries is dedicated to helping individual, families, and children in crisis move out of poverty.
