EL PASO, TX (September 11, 2023) |

The Security Service Charitable Foundation donated $5,000  to Opportunity Center for the Homeless of El Paso, Texas. This donation will help formerly  homeless veterans move into permanent housing.

“Overcoming homelessness is a challenge,” said John Martin, deputy director for Opportunity  Center for the Homeless. “This donation from the Security Service Charitable Foundation will  help make the transition so much easier for men and women who served our country and find  themselves in need.”

The Security Service Charitable Foundation’s donation will purchase Home Entry Kits for 25  individuals who are part of the Veteran’s Transitional Living Center (VTLC.) The kits support  veterans as they move into permanent housing, with the supplies needed. Items in the kit include  kitchen utensils, cleaning supplies, and bathroom accessories.

The Opportunity Center for the Homeless serves the homeless community of El Paso, Texas. The  organization’s Veteran’s Transitional Living Center provides the connection between emergency  shelters to permanent housing options through the provision of necessities, intensive case  management and collaboration among community providers for our homeless veteran  population.
