The Security Service Charitable Foundation is helping the Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home (LBMCH) through a $5,000 donation to provide nutritious meals to local children and families. This donation will support daily access to healthy meals for children and families that are experiencing difficulty in the El Paso area.
“The Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home provides children with a sense of belonging, confidence, and limitless capacity to dream and work towards goals for a bright future,” said Victoria G. Molinar, community relations and development coordinator for the Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home. “This donation is helping us fulfill our mission of service to children and families within our community.”
In 2020, LBMCH created its Emergency Food Assistance program in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the community. This program and the donations supporting it have increased the organization’s ability to provide food assistance by 25%.
“An investment in our children is an investment in our future,” said Marisela Rios, vice president of member service – Mountain Region for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “Security Service is honored to provide community support to an organization determined to help children grow into successful, resilient members of society.”
Founded in 1959 by Lee Moor and his wife Beulah, the Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home provides a wide range of services to vulnerable children and families in the El Paso area. Programs include residential care, adoption, foster care, family and individual counseling, independent living skills training, college preparation, aftercare, and more. Since its founding over 60 years ago, LBMCH has seen more than 30,000 children pass through its doors. A successful businessman, Lee Moor left a living legacy of his belief in helping others by establishing a trust for the children’s home.
The Security Service Charitable Foundation helps further Security Service Federal Credit Union’s corporate goal of community service by contributing to deserving organizations and causes in the credit union's market areas.
