Security Service Charitable Foundation donates $7,500 to non-profit organizations in Colorado

Funds to aid children and families in Colorado

SAN ANTONIO, TX (September 15, 2023) — The Security Service Charitable Foundation donated $7,500 to two non-profit organizations in Colorado. Safe Passage, an organization that gives abused children a voice and enables the healing process, will use their donation to provide forensic exams and advocacy services for abused children. A Precious Child, an organization that supplies essentials to children and families, will use their donation to provide hygiene kits to their clients.

“The donation from the Security Service Charitable Foundation allows us to provide services free of cost to the children and families we serve who are impacted by abuse,” said Emily Bowker, director of development for Safe Passage. “We are so grateful for the generosity from Security Service and their belief and commitment to our mission of bringing hope and healing to children in our community.”

The Security Service Charitable Foundation’s donation will provide forensic medical exams and individualized advocacy services for families at Safe Passage.

“A Precious Child is honored to receive support from Security Service Charitable Foundation,” said Courtney Wickberg, chief communications officer for A Precious Child. “The generous support will go directly to our programs that focus on providing basic essentials and necessities to children and families in need to empower them to achieve their full potential.”

The Security Service Charitable Foundation’s donation will provide 332 children and teens with hygiene kits. Lack of hygiene essentials can lead to bad hygiene. These necessary supplies, like toothpaste and soap, can build a child’s confidence and self-esteem.

The Security Service Charitable Foundation helps further Security Service Federal Credit Union’s corporate goal of community service by contributing to deserving organizations and causes in the credit union’s market areas.
