Security Service Federal Credit Union donates $5,000 to Austin Ed Fund
Donation part of “Amplify Austin”
SAN ANTONIO, TX (March 15, 2016) — Security Service Federal Credit Union recently presented the Austin Ed Fund with a check for $5,000. The donation is part of a match for Amplify Austin – Austin’s annual community-wide day of giving.
Security Service committed to a dollar-for-dollar match up to $5,000 for all first time donors who contributed to the Austin Ed Fund as part of the 24-hour non-profit fund drive held on March 8th and 9th.
Austin Ed Fund is a non-profit organization created to generate and distribute external resources for the support of excellence in the Austin Independence School District (AISD). Programs supported include the district’s Innovation Grants; which are designed to encourage and facilitate innovative and creative teaching methods in the classroom.
“Texas school districts are constantly asked to do more with less, so additional funding from the community is important if we want to continue a level of excellence in education,” said Letha Harrelson, assistant vice president of business development for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “We are pleased to join other business, education, and community leaders who have made a commitment to support and enhance the work of the Austin Independent School District.”

The matching gift from Security Service helped raise more than $13,000 from individual donors during the Amplify Austin event.
