Security Service Federal Credit Union promotes Martin to Chief Financial Officer
SAN ANTONIO, TX (August 7, 2015) — Security Service Federal Credit Union recently announced the promotion of Thomas Martin to executive vice president, chief financial officer (CFO). Martin, a retired U.S. Navy Lieutenant Commander, previously served as executive vice president of planning and performance. In his new role of chief financial officer, Martin will oversee accounting and finance, enterprise performance management, corporate strategic planning and human resources.
“This is a unique role in which Tom’s vast knowledge of strategic planning and performance will be combined with his extensive experience in finance,” said Jim Laffoon, president and chief executive officer for Security Service. “Tom is well positioned for this role and his strong leadership skills will help the credit union reach its current and future goals.”
Prior to joining Security Service in 2013, Martin served as the president and CEO of AEA Federal Credit Union in Yuma, AZ.

Martin holds a Bachelor of Science in computer science from the University of Idaho and an MBA in finance from Western International University. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 22 years where he served as a surface warfare officer. Martin currently sits on the National Association of Federal Credit Unions Board Share Insurance Committee.
