Securityplus FCU supports local families through Holiday Food Basket initiative

BALTIMORE, MD (December 23, 2025) |

This holiday season, Securityplus Federal Credit Union proudly partnered with the United Way of Central Maryland to bring joy, comfort, and vital support to families in need through its Support a Family holiday initiative. Together, Securityplus employees and partners assembled 15 Holiday Food Baskets, filled with nutritious staples and seasonal essentials for local families facing food insecurity.

With many students losing access to school-provided meals during winter break, the baskets provided not just food—but peace of mind for families navigating challenging times.

This effort was spearheaded by Tymeshia Alleyne, Onboarding Experience Coordinator, whose leadership and heart brought the initiative to life. She was joined by an incredible team of Securityplus volunteers including:

  • Atia Ross, Director of Member Services
  • Jessica Taylor, Senior Business Services Specialist
  • Tiffany Fowler, Quality Control Specialist Specialist

Together, they rallied employee participation, coordinated donations, and ensured every basket was filled with care and purpose.

“We are incredibly grateful to our team, our members, and our community partners who made this possible,” said Tymeshia Alleyne. “It was more than just assembling baskets—it was a labor of love. Everyone who contributed helped provide comfort and nourishment to families during what can be a difficult time of year.”

Each basket included non-perishable pantry items, holiday sides, seasonal treats, and household essentials—thoughtfully curated to support families beyond a single meal.

“This initiative reflects what it truly means to live our values and our credit union mission,” said Obinna Ndukwe, Chief People & Impact Officer at Securityplus. “Community involvement isn’t something we do once a year—it’s woven into who we are. And thanks to our employees and United Way, these baskets were full of hope, dignity, and holiday cheer.”

The partnership with United Way of Central Maryland continues to be a vital part of Securityplus’ community impact work, helping to identify families in need and ensure that resources are distributed meaningfully and efficiently across the region.

As part of its ongoing “people helping people” philosophy, Securityplus remains committed to serving Baltimore and surrounding communities through volunteerism, outreach, and financial empowerment.
