Securityplus Federal Credit Union proudly celebrated the recognition of two of its rising stars, Keon Adams and Markia Kelson, during the Maryland & DC Credit Union Association’s Appreciation Night held at Matthew’s 1600 on May 13.
Both team members were nominated by their peers and honored for their exceptional leadership, commitment to collaboration, and the positive impact they continue to make within the credit union and the broader community.
Keon Adams is known across the Woodlawn Branch and beyond as someone who never hesitates to help. Whether assisting a member at the transaction window or stepping in on the platform side, Keon is the first to raise his hand. He goes above and beyond to support both members and teammates—even under pressure—and always with a positive attitude and a smile. “From the brains to the labor,” one colleague shared, “Keon is hands down the best person to be nominated.”
Markia Kelson is recognized for her consistent professionalism, patience, and compassion. She approaches each interaction—whether with members or fellow employees—with care and attentiveness, turning even the most complex situations into opportunities for connection. Markia’s peers describe her as someone who exceeds expectations daily, delivering thoughtful, mission-aligned service that makes a meaningful impact. “She is very patient and understanding,” one team member shared. “Markia is truly an asset to our team.”
