Senators Masto, Menendez, Rubio, HUD deputy secretary Pam Patenaude headline NAHREP’s 2018 Housing Policy & Hispanic Lending Conference

SAN DIEGO, CA (February 21, 2018) — The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP®) announced today that three Latino U.S. Senators-Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nevada), Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) and Marco Rubio (R-Florida)-will offer keynote remarks at its 2018 Housing Policy & Hispanic Lending Conference. The conference will be held February 27 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, D.C.

“The role of Hispanics in the U.S. economy is more significant than ever, so we are grateful that senators representing both parties will be joining us to share their perspectives and insights with our members,” said Daisy Lopez-Cid, NAHREP 2018 President-Elect. “NAHREP will be working closely with the senators and other policy makers in the coming year to address key issues that affect homeownership opportunities, small business and Hispanic prosperity.”

Sen. Rubio, widely known as one of the most talented orators in the Senate, will deliver a keynote address at the Opening Session. Freshman Sen. Masto, a rising star among Democratic senators, will kick off the second session. Later that evening Sen. Menendez, who has been a consistent champion for immigration reform, will keynote the closing gala, at which NAHREP will install its 2018 Leadership and Board. HUD Deputy Secretary Patenaude will participate in a fireside chat at one of the afternoon sessions, and will discuss the Trump Administration’s plans to support homeownership.

The 2018 NAHREP Housing Policy & Hispanic Lending Conference will feature the release of NAHREP’s annual State of Hispanic Homeownership Report and include several sessions that address a number of issues related to housing policy and Hispanic homeownership, including mortgage financing, affordable housing inventory, and immigration. Immediately preceding the conference, NAHREP will host its annual Leadership Academy, where representatives from all of NAHREP’s 60 chapters will receive training on chapter management and leadership skill sets. On February 28, NAHREP will send nearly 200 of its members to Capitol Hill, where they will share the organization’s policy priorities with members of Congress.
