Ser Tech congratulates Rebecca Reynolds Lytle, the new CEO of Santa Clara County Federal Credit Union

Flexibility, Fearlessness, and Communication are the keys to her success

DALLAS, TX (July 21, 2017) — We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to Rebecca Reynolds Lytle, the next Chief Executive Officer of Santa Clara County Federal Credit Union in San Jose, CA.

In hindsight, it seems only fitting that Ms. Reynolds Lytle would be named to the top seat of a $730 million credit union; she is a consummate communicator who is not afraid of embracing change or making tough decisions. Whether she’s engaging with employees, strengthening relationships with members, or serving as a strong role model to recruit more female employees, Ms. Reynolds Lytle consistently excels.

During her time at San Francisco Federal Credit Union, she helped create POPPYLOAN (Proud Ownership Purchase Program for You), a new mortgage loan program that made waves by offering no-down-payment in order to give Bay Area buyers a way to break out of the vicious cycle of paying some of the highest rent in the nation.

POPPYLOAN offers up to 100 percent home financing on the purchase price of a home up to $2 million, with no down payment or added requirement for private mortgage insurance. During its first year in production, the program resulted in more than $120 million in loans for the credit union.

“We don’t do any kind of toxic mortgage programs,” Lytle told a publication in 2016. “That’s not what this program is about. That’s not in our lending philosophy. We’re about getting people out of a bad renting situation and putting those rental dollars to work for them so they can start to build their wealth.”

Ms. Reynolds Lytle brings more than 35 years of financial services experience, during which she has earned a reputation for building high-performance teams that provide exceptional member experiences. For the last 24 years, she has held progressive executive leadership positions with successful San Francisco Area credit unions.

County Federal serves county, city, and school employees and affiliated organizations with its six branches and more than 100 employees.

Ms. Reynolds Lytle was previously named by Credit Union Times as “Woman to Watch” for her innovation and influence in shaping the future of the credit union industry. She is a past president of the El Camino Chapter of the California Credit Union League and actively participates in several industry organizations. Ms. Reynolds Lytle is leaving her post as Chief Lending Officer and SVP of San Francisco Federal Credit Union to assume the role.

“Rebecca is a woman for our time in the credit union industry. She’s always thinking about the next mountain to scale, and her message and reputation are reminiscent of those of Wonder Woman,” said Shana Richardson, CEO of Ser Technology. “She is strong, capable, and has put those bullet-deflecting bracelets to good use on more than one occasion. She makes it abundantly clear that she will always strive to do the right thing.”

We are confident that Rebecca Reynolds Lytle will lead with distinction, helping Santa Clara County Federal Credit Union grow and continue to be a success within the community.
