Serve Credit Union awards $3,000 in college scholarships

DES MOINES, WA (May 6, 2025) |

Serve Credit Union, a financial cooperative that serves those who serve the community, recently announced the three recipients of its $3,000 scholarship program.

Annually, Serve offers scholarships to members and their families to put towards their higher education. This year, each receipt received a $1,000 scholarship.

The awardees include:

  • Anna Olson, incoming freshman at University of Iowa
  • Tessa Rounds, current student at Simpson College
  • Dallin Sprague, incoming freshman at Brigham Young University Idaho

Additionally, Carson Staker, a Serve Credit Union member and senior at Johnston high school received $3,000 from the Warren A. Morrow Scholarship from the Iowa Credit Union Foundation. This scholarship is in remembrance and honor of Warren A. Morrow who committed his life and career to serving underserved communities.

Each applicant is required to share their future plans, degree, volunteer history, activities, and answer an essay question. This year's essay question talked about different financial transitions within the next five years. Applicants were asked about their goals and how Serve could help navigate these changes to achieve their dreams.

“It has been an absolute honor to read the insightful essays from our participants. These contributions help ensure we remain a trusted primary financial institution throughout all stages of life,” said Serve Credit Union CEO Jami Weems. “We remain dedicated to offering the benefits and solutions that are important today while evolving to meet the needs of the future."

The scholarship receipts were recognized at Serve Credit Union’s 94th Annual Meeting on April 17th, 2025.
