The League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU & Affiliates) and the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) are proud to announce that seven Alabama credit unions won a total of nine statewide 2023 CUNA Awards for outstanding outreach to their members and communities. The annual CUNA Awards bestow the highest honors to credit unions that are making a difference around the country.
The Desjardins Financial Education awards celebrates leadership in both youth and adult financial literacy initiatives.
- Redstone Federal Credit Union won 1st place for the Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award among credit unions with more than $1 billion in assets.
- All In Credit Union won 2nd place for the Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award among credit unions with more than $1 billion in assets.
- AlabamaONE Credit Union won 1st place for the Desjardins Adult Financial Education Award among credit unions between $250 million and $1 billion in assets.
The Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award encourages and honors credit union involvement in community projects and activities.
- All In Credit Union won 1st place for the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award among credit unions with more than $1 billion in assets.
- New Horizons Credit Union won 1st place for the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award among credit unions between $250 million and $1 billion in assets.
- Heritage South Credit Union won 1st place for the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award among credit unions between $50 and 250 million in assets.
- Birmingham City Credit Union won 1st place for the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award among credit unions with less than $50 million in assets.
The Louise Herring Award for Philosophy in Action honors credit unions that are making exceptional efforts to include credit union philosophy in daily operations.
- Avadian Credit Union won 1st place for the Louise Herring Award for Philosophy in Action among credit unions with more than $1 billion in assets.
- All In Credit Union won 2nd place for the Louise Herring Award for Philosophy in Action among credit unions with more than $1 billion in assets.

All 1st place statewide winners have been entered into the national awards program administered by CUNA. The results of the national contest will be announced in November.
