MADISON, WI (December 9, 2013) -- Seven credit unions increased their support of Filene Research Institute with new silver benefactor relationships. A+ Federal Credit Union, American Airlines Credit Union, Coastal Federal Credit Union, Digital Federal Credit Union, Redwood Credit Union, SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union and State Department Federal Credit Union upgraded from bronze to silver-level benefactors as part of the nonprofit’s Go Silver! membership program.
In recognition of its 25th anniversary in 2014, Filene invited its bronze benefactors to upgrade to silver in a special, limited-time membership program. The program includes access to increased benefits, deeper engagement and special recognition for the credit union throughout the year.
“This is a big darn deal,” said Mark Meyer, CEO at Filene. “These organizations share our vision of a thriving and dynamic future for credit unions dependent on active participation. Their support of Filene enables us to drive change for the cooperative system as a whole.”
Filene’s silver benefactors contribute $24,999 annually. Xceed Financial Credit Union was the first credit union to support the nonprofit as a silver benefactor in early 2013.
“Xceed was delighted to be the natural person credit union ‘ground breaker’ in terms of contributing at the silver benefactor level,” said Teresa Freeborn, president and CEO at Xceed. “Filene has been our go-to for research, innovation and industry collaboration for years and supporting them at this level just seemed to be the right thing to do.”

Credit unions participating in the Go Silver! membership program earn a credit valued at up to $10,000 towards an appreciation program, ranging from impact solutions and technology strategic planning to community engagement and extra membership support. Go Silver! is limited to the first 25 member organizations that commit.
