Shamzy Romero promoted to vice president member service central region for Security Service Federal Credit Union

Shamzy Romero is the new vice president of member service, central region for Security Service Federal Credit Union (SSFCU). Her responsibilities include all branch sales and operations within the region for the 26 locations in the greater San Antonio area.

“We are delighted to announce Shamzy Romero has assumed the role of vice president for member service of our central region,” said Greg Reed, senior vice president of member service for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “She has charted her career in positions of increasing responsibility. We are lucky to have someone as dedicated as Shamzy on our team.”

Romero’s tenure with Security Service began 16 years ago when she was hired as a part-time teller at the Highland Hills Branch in San Antonio. She worked through several positions, each providing more challenges and experience. Her most recent position was assistant vice president for member service, in the San Antonio east district. In her new role, she works to continue to infuse passion into the credit union by working with purpose and enriching the lives of members with beneficial financial solutions.

Romero stays active in the community and is involved in a number of volunteer efforts including the San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind and Vision Impaired. She has also held positions on the Advisory Board for Business Careers High School, the Board of Directors for the Bexar County Chapter of DARE, and the Board of Directors for Girls Inc.
