Corporate Central announced this week that Shannon Cate, Member Services Specialist, has passed the National Check Professional (NCP) exam.
According to The Clearing House, “The NCP Certification Program is intended, in part, to recognize an elevated level of payments acumen among payment professionals. Through the certification process, NCPs will demonstrate a working knowledge of every significant aspect of the check payment system including products and operations, relevant rules and laws that govern checks, industry standards, and fraud and risk mitigation considerations.”
“Corporate Central is always striving to enhance our in-house expertise in all areas,” said Stephanie Schmidt, AAP, CWCUL, AVP Member Services. “This is a huge accomplishment that took a lot of hard work and dedication. We are very proud of Shannon and congratulate her on being the first ever NCP at Corporate Central.”
As an NCP, Cate is respected at Corporate Central, by auditors/regulators, and across the industry as a payment expert. She provides value through her knowledge of regulatory and compliance obligations, and her ability to expedite critical member issues. She also has the expertise to resolve complex check problems, reducing potential risk to Corporate Central.
“I’m excited to have had the opportunity to take the NCP and receive my accreditation, and I’m looking forward to the professional development opportunities it will unlock for me,” Cate said. “I’m thankful for the support I have received from Corporate Central while preparing for the exam and for the ability to apply my expertise moving forward.”
