Sheboygan Memorial Day Brat Fry to benefit Stars and Stripes Honor Flight

SHEBOYGAN, WI (May 3, 2016) — Kohler Credit Union is proud to announce that this year’s Sheboygan Memorial Day brat fry will benefit Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, a local nonprofit organization that honors veterans by flying them to Washington, DC to visit their memorials. The 2016 Sheboygan Memorial Day parade will take place on Monday, May 30, in downtown Sheboygan beginning at 9:00 am. The brat fry fundraiser will take place in Fountain Park during the Memorial Day ceremony, which takes place immediately after the parade.

Kohler Credit Union has partnered with several local businesses to make this year’s brat fry fundraiser a reality including the newest sponsor, Miesfeld’s Meat Market. Other brat fry sponsors include Johnson’s Bakery, Sargento Cheese, Lakeside Pepsi and Festival Foods.

“We are so honored that Kohler Credit Union has chosen Stars and Stripes Honor Flight as the beneficiary of this year’s event,” said Paula Nelson, president of Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.  “Memorial Day is for remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.  As a result of this partnership, the event will now also honor our oldest veterans who still walk among us.  An Honor Flight is a way for the community to thank our World War II and Korean War veterans before it is too late, and the generosity of Kohler Credit Union and the attendees will enable us to honor more local heroes this year.”

Kohler Credit Union is honored to organize the Sheboygan Memorial Day parade and ceremony for the second year in row. If you or your organization would like to participate in the parade, please contact Jamie Schramm, Kohler Credit Union’s employee development manager, at 920.783.2451. The Sheboygan Veterans Services office will also be coordinating an Honor Flight parade unit for veterans who participated in an honor flight and would like to be a part of the parade. Please contact Todd Richter or Charlene Cobb, at 920.459.3053 if you are interested in participating in that parade unit.
