Shell FCU Kicked off Supplies For Students

July 2011, Deer Park, TX – The Furthering Community Unity (FCU) Team powered by Shell FCU has kicked off its “Supplies for Students” drive, a school supply drive benefiting Deer Park, Pasadena, La Porte and Pearland Independent School Districts. Last year the FCU Team with the help of their employees, members, community and local businesses raised $5,669 during their “Supplies for Students” drive and this year the FCU Team hopes to do even better!
Cash donations as well and school supplies from the named schools’ lists can be dropped off at any Shell FCU branch. On August 15th the FCU team will head to local stores to purchase and then deliver the needed school supplies.
The FCU Team participates in and sponsors many events such as Habitat for Humanity, Baytown Special Rodeo, Boy’s & Girl’s Harbor, many walks, blood drives, food drives, Pasadena Animal Shelter, and many more. Since its inception in 2008, the FCU Team has raised over $35,474.48 and donated over 4118 hours.
