Sikorsky Credit Union donates to local community center

Sikorsky Credit Union donated basketballs to the McGivney Community Center for their after-school program.

Sikorsky Credit Union’s donation of 15 basketballs to the McGivney Community Center will benefit young kids in kindergarten through 8th grade that participate in the community center’s after-school program. McGivney’s Community Center is located in Bridgeport, Connecticut and has been known as a safe place for children to go to since 1992. Their mission is to provide youth with both stimulating and enriching programs that will foster academic success and self-esteem.

When asked about the donation, the President and CEO of Sikorsky Credit Union, Vincent Ciambriello,stated, “Giving back to the communities we serve is an important part of what we do as a credit union. This donation to the McGivney Community Center will fill an important need for their after-school program and will encourage children to be healthy and active.”

Joe DeSabella, Program Director for The McGivney Community center, states, “The McGivney Community Center is so grateful for the Sikorsky Credit Union for donating basketballs for our after-school program! The gym is a crucial part of our after-school program, and our kids are so excited to play with new basketballs! Sikorsky Credit Union is helping our members to develop healthy lifestyles, and we can't thank them enough for their support.”
