Teachers Federal Credit Union, Long Island’s largest credit union, is proud of its six enterprising employees who earned advanced degrees by attending after work classes taught by Dowling College professors at the credit union’s Farmingville headquarters.  Through a partnership between Teachers Federal Credit Union (TFCU) and Dowling College, a program was developed to enable employees to conveniently earn credits toward bachelor’s or master’s degrees in business. The educational program was customized to meet TFCU’s needs and to fit the employees’ work schedules.

The six TFCU employees were recently recognized for their academic achievements at a ceremony held at the Oakdale Campus of Dowling College.  Among the honorees was Lucille Marie Primm who earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Leadership.  Lucille, a resident of Lake Ronkonkoma, works at TFCU’s Farmingville branch in the Collections Department.

The following TFCU employees received a Master of Business Administration in Management and Leadership: Joseph Atanasio, a resident of Brentwood and platform assistant at the East Northport branch; Deborah Loo, a resident of South Setauket and platform assistant at the Smithtown branch; Christina Esteves Chindamo, a resident of Port Jefferson who works at the Farmingville branch in the Training Department; Heather Gibbons, a resident of Lindenhurst who works at the Farmingville branch in the Accounting Department; and Philip Datz, a resident of Medford works at the Farmingville branch in the IT Department.

“The Dowling College program offers our employees an opportunity to broaden their knowledge and supports them in fulfilling their career goals.  The six TFCU employees receiving degrees are industrious individuals who have worked diligently to complete the academic requirements in this model program.  I congratulate each of the employees and wish them much success,” said Robert G. Allen, President/CEO of TFCU.
