MIAMI, FL (May 29, 2014) -- South Florida Educational Federal Credit Union (FCU) is helping 15 college-bound students from several South Florida high schools fund their higher education. The Credit Union’s scholarship winners, who received a collective $197,000, were announced during its 19th Annual Hubert O. Sibley Scholarship Ceremony on May 22.
“We take pride in helping these students fulfill their educational goals, said Michael DiBenedetto, President and CEO. It’s a great feeling to be able to help fund their college efforts.”
The Hubert O. Sibley Scholarship program was established in 1995. Since then, the program has recognized 278 students, and awarded a total of $3 million in scholarships. Each of the 15 recipients received a full tuition scholarship covering the cost at any of Florida’s 11 state universities through the Florida Prepaid University Plan.
