Amid the mad rush to get last minute holiday shopping done for loved ones, Freedom Credit Union employees donated gifts to needy families with the Salvation Army Angel Giving Tree Program.
In November, a Salvation Army volunteer dropped off tags with information about children and their holiday gift wishes, including their name, age and clothing sizes. Employees were able to take the tags from Freedom’s Operation Center lunchroom, then return the gifts to the Christmas tree for collection on December 14th. Many employees generously donated popular gifts, including: bikes, video games, mp3 players, toy strollers and much more.
The Salvation Army Angel Giving Tree Program has quickly become a holiday tradition at Freedom Credit Union, providing approximately 90 gifts to the program since 2010. This year’s donations were picked up by a Salvation Army volunteer, then will be wrapped and distributed in time for the holidays.
