Stan Koussis appointed to Fairfax County Embark Affordable Housing Task Force

SUITLAND, MD (August 15, 2018) — Andrews Federal Credit Union’s Stan Koussis, Community Development Manager and Mt. Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce Vice President, was recently appointed to the Fairfax County Embark Housing Advisory Group.

Koussis, upon invitation from Lee District Supervisor Jeff McKay and Mount Vernon District Supervisor Dan Storck, joins a 14-member task force aimed at making recommendations on affordable housing issues impacted by the new Embark Comprehensive Plan Amendment for Richmond Highway.

“It is a privilege to be a part of this worthy cause, and to work collaboratively towards solutions for affordable housing issues along the Richmond Highway corridor,” said Koussis.

According to the Northern Virginia Affordable Housing Alliance website (nvaha.org), EMBARK is a plan that seeks to bring bus rapid transit, mixed-use development, improved bike and pedestrian access, new parks and plazas, and opportunities that attract new businesses and residents. The plan creates a vision for an area of the County that has long suffered from under-investment.
