PLANO, TX (February 12, 2019) — Star of Texas Credit Union has named Stephanie Sievers as its new president/CEO, effective Feb. 4, 2019. Credit Union Resources conducted the executive search for the $35 million credit union.
Sievers’ credit union management experience and expertise will be a valuable asset to Star of Texas. Her passion for membership growth, marketing, and credit union operations will help Star of Texas continue to meet the needs of their members.
Sievers comes to Star of Texas from Pink Strategies, LLC, where she was the contract chief executive officer for Sisseton-Wahpeton Federal Credit Union in Agency Village, S.D. She was responsible for working with NCUA, the Sisseton-Wahpeton board of directors, and the employees of the credit union to implement regulatory compliance, operational efficiencies, and profitability. At Sisseton-Wahpeton, Sievers improved ROA from -2.45 percent to 0.16 percent and grew net worth from -11.76 percent to 0.92 percent.
Prior to Sisseton-Wahpeton, Sievers was the chief executive officer at ANECA Federal Credit Union in Shreveport, La. Sievers restructured the organization, reduced operational inefficiencies, created a positive work environment that improved employee morale, and turned a struggling credit union into a successful and thriving community partner with industry-leading growth metrics.
Sievers holds three master’s degrees: a Master of Science in finance from the University of Miami, a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University – Shreveport, and a Master of Science in health and physical education from Louisiana Tech University.
Sievers is actively involved in the community and within the credit union industry. She serves on the boards of the Credit Union National Association, the Louisiana Credit Union League, Shreveport/Bossier Credit Union Executive Association, and CU*South.
