STCU’s new Downtown Spokane Branch opens today
SPOKANE, WA (January 24, 2017) — Visitors to STCU’s relocated Downtown Spokane Branch will see a work in progress: A new mural from Spokane’s Cain and Todd Benson.
The relocated branch, where STCU shares space with the Rocket Bakery, opens Tuesday in River Park Square, adjacent to Urban Outfitters. The STCU Downtown Spokane Branch was previously located on the skywalk level of Crescent Court.
The Benson brothers will continue to work after business hours until the new mural is completed. Their playful murals are becoming Spokane landmarks, in such locations as Central Food in Kendall Yards; at Second and Maple Street; Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena; and at the northeast end of the Maple Street Bridge.
When done, the mural will fill an interior wall on the ground floor of the new branch location, and continue up the stairs to the skywalk level. The face-filled mural will depict familiar downtown landmarks, with sly nods to both the Rocket and STCU.
