Sue DeStephano, President/CEO of First Capital Federal Credit Union, was honored as one of Central Penn Business Journal’s Power 100 for her commitment to community and having a positive impact on the quality of life in our region.
For 35 years, Sue has played a significant role in First Capital Federal Credit Union’s growth. She is our resident cheerleader and has a passion, not only for First Capital, but the credit union industry in general. She gets excited about helping our members succeed and supports our mission of giving back to the community.
Sue has had quite the journey in her credit union career and essentially grew up here. She started right out of college as a Loan Officer, a position she held for almost ten years before being promoted to Loan Manager. Within a few years, she was promoted again, this time to the role of VP of Lending. She served in this role for ten years before becoming VP of Operations. Then in 2015, after a nationwide search, she was selected as our new President/CEO.
Sue is very involved with various organizations within the credit union industry and in our community. She serves as an Associate Board Member for Vizo Financial Corporate Credit Union; as the Treasurer/2nd Vice Chair for the York County Economic Alliance (YCEA) General Authority of Southcentral Pennsylvania Board of Directors; was recently voted in as the Vice President for the York County SPCA Board of Directors; is a member of the Women’s Business Center Organization through the YCEA and a member of the United Way of York County’s Women United, just to name a few.
“I am very honored to be chosen for this award,” said President and CEO Sue DeStephano. “I am inspired every day by the great people who make up First Capital Federal Credit Union and how they positively impact the lives of our members. I feel fortunate to lead my team and to continually work to make a difference in our community.”
