Summit Credit Union awards 80th birthday scholarships
Member-owned cooperative celebrates by awarding student scholarships
MADISON, WI (October 13, 2015) — Summit Credit Union recently celebrated its 80thth birthday. In order to commemorate it, Summit awarded two students scholarship, to be applied toward college.
Heidi Knoche was selected as the first-place winner and received a $1,500 scholarship. “Receiving a scholarship from anyone is great,” said Heidi. “It’s especially meaningful coming from an organization I morally support.” Heidi graduated from Middleton High School and is now studying International Business & Marketing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Aliyah Quereshi was the second-place winner and received a $1,000 scholarship. “I am so excited to receive the Credit Union Movement Scholarship,” said Aliyah. “It has made such a difference for me in my academic career and will enable me to meet my future goals.” Aliyah attended Brookfield Academy in Milwaukee and is pursuing a degree in International Relations from Georgetown University.
