Summit Credit Union celebrates members with Summit Fest

Annual member meeting highlights 2018 success, provides family fun at Mallards Stadium

MADISON, WI (June 4, 2019) — Over 2,200 people attended Summit Fest, Summit Credit Union’s annual member meeting and family event, at the Duck Pond (Mallards Stadium) at Warner Park on Sunday.

Far more than an ordinary annual meeting, Summit Fest combines a showcase of the previous year’s accomplishments with family-friendly entertainment including live music, a picnic lunch, obstacle courses and the fan-favorite diaper dash. “Summit Fest is our annual member meeting, but it’s really become so much more,” said Summit Credit Union CEO & President Kim Sponem. “It’s a way to say “thank you” to our members, a family event, and one way we are introducing an entire generation to the cooperative business model and the value that credit unions bring to consumers. And, it’s a lot of fun for everyone involved.”

Summit celebrated another successful year in 2018, finishing as the top mortgage lender in Dane County1 for the ninth consecutive year. Summit and its members also continued their mission to raise funds for developing communities around the world, donating more than $31,000 in 2018 through the Summit Global Good Card.

Summit also uses the member meeting as an occasion to recognize its annual Board of Directors Scholarship recipients: Luke Breyer (Sun Prairie High School), Laura Linde (Emory University) and Noah Hertel (University of Minnesota-Twin Cities) each received a $1,500 continuing education award. Once again, Summit awarded its annual $2,500 Mary Siedlecki Scholarship to the Urban League of Greater Madison’s 21st Century Careers Program.
