MADISON, Wis. – For the second year in a row, Summit Credit Union is ranked as the top home mortgage lender for number of loans in Dane County. Summit closed 3,824 home mortgage loans in 2011, according to mortgages recorded (including purchases, refinances and second mortgages) with the Dane County Government Register of Deeds. The second highest home loan lender in Dane County for the year was UW Credit Union, with a total of 2,756 home mortgage loans closed. AnchorBank was third with 2,456 home mortgage loans closed. Summit was also Dane County’s top home mortgage lender in 2010.
Summit is also ranked as the top first-mortgage (purchases and refinances) granting credit union in Wisconsin (and ranks 15th in the nation) as of Sept. 30, 2011, according to the American Credit Union Mortgage Association. (Editor’s note: The results for 2011 year-end rankings will be released by ACUMA in April, 2012).
“In addition to our competitive rates and low closing costs, members have told us that they see Summit as a trustworthy partner in helping them make financial decisions,” said Kim Sponem, CEO/President of Summit Credit Union. “The referrals we’ve received from our members puts action behind these accolades and is a big reason why we’re ranked as the top mortgage lender in Dane County for the second year in a row.”
