Suncoast Credit Union launches private health insurance exchange portal

TALLAHASSEE, FL (October 20, 2015) — Suncoast Credit Union announces the launch of a new private health insurance exchange portal. The new custom-branded health insurance marketplace enables buyers to comparison shop and en- roll online for individual health coverage through Members Insurance Center, LLC an independent agency and a subsidiary of Suncoast Credit Union. The portal was developed by HealthPlan ServicesSM (HPS), a technology, sales, retention and administrative services provider for the insurance and managed care markets.

“This venture will allow our members to have access to quality, comprehensive medical insurance in a trusted and safe environment,” says Mona Russell, Vice President of Insurance at Members Insurance Center, LLC “and offering health insurance, which is a concern for many, is yet another extension of our mission to improve the lives of our members.”

With this portal, Suncoast joins a growing list of companies using the technological infrastructure of the HPS My- ConsumerLinkSM online private exchange platform that gives members choices rather than selling only one brand of insurance. According to an April 2015 report by Accenture, the private exchange market will surpass state and feder- ally funded ACA exchange health plan enrollment by 2018, reaching a total enrollment of approximately 40 million.

The portal is accessible from the Suncoast personal insurance page at www.suncoastcreditunion.com and from the Members Insurance Center, LLC website at www.floridamic.org. Open enrollment for Medicare will run from October 15 to December 7, and open enrollment for the general public will run from November 1 to January 31.
