Tansley Stearns awarded CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council’s Volunteer of the Year Honor

Bright and selfless leadership result in a well-deserved honor for Canvas Credit Union’s Chief People and Strategy Officer.

DENVER, CO (July 7, 2020) — Canvas Credit Union has had a rewarding start to 2020 lead by their one and only, Chief People and Strategy Officer, Tansley Stearns who was recently honored as CUNA’s 2020 Volunteer of the Year. In addition, Canvas was recognized for excellence in marketing; receiving three CUNA Diamond Awards.

Each year, CUNA recognizes the very best in credit union marketing and business development. In addition to recognizing the crème de la crème of credit union marketing campaigns, they also recognize individuals who contribute and exemplify the values of all credit unions. The CUNA Council leadership, recognized Tansley Stearns as an individual who exemplifies excellence in leadership and contributes to the Council in countless ways, earning her title as Volunteer of the Year.

The award was given to Tansley during a virtual award ceremony; honoring her commitment to collaboration within our industry. As quoted by CUNA’s recognition; “As a very smart person once said. The purpose of life is to discover your gift, the work of life is to develop it, and the meaning of life is to give your gift away. Tansley gives freely of her gifts, and the entire credit union industry is better for it.”

Through Tansley’s spectacularly thoughtful leadership, Canvas is proud to have also earned three Diamond Awards at the 27th annual CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council Conference. The Diamond Awards are one of the most prestigious annual credit union industry competitions that recognize and reward creative excellence and outstanding results. Canvas took home shining diamond awards in the following three categories:

  • ‘Cutting Edge’- Canvas developed a signature scent, Canvas Crush, to trigger positive and comfortable memories for members at all branch locations.
  • ‘Brand Awareness’ – Canvas elevated their distinct, delightfully-offbeat brand platform to engage even more Coloradans and help them afford life. Brand benchmarking research results showcased the performance of the brand.
  • ‘Internal Marketing, Recognition, Incentive Program’ – Canvas launched a recognition program called “Canvas Creatures” to identify the number of Canvas folks who demonstrate Canvas’ pillars and show that Canvas is known for their people.
