Tarrant County’s Credit Union gives back to Center for Transforming Lives

FORT WORTH, TX (January 23, 2017) — Tarrant County’s Credit Union donates $500 to the Center for Transforming Lives on January 10, 2017.

During the holiday season Tarrant County’s Credit Union raised money by selling a staff-decorated Christmas wreath and two 6-feet tall toy filled Christmas stockings. All proceeds from ticket purchases were donated to the Center for Transforming Lives, or CTL, a center that assists women and children living in poverty by providing stability through housing.

TCCU has been a partner with CTL for many years, and has been actively involved in helping both residents and children of the center. TCCU staff members have participated in reading to the children who attend the child care centers, painted dorm rooms and collected and prepped donated items for the CTL resale shop. TCCU chose to raise money for CTL this holiday season because of the ongoing positive impact CTL has in the community.

“It is our pleasure to work with the Center for Transforming Lives (formerly the YWCA),” TCCU’s Business Development Coordinator, Melissa Burleson, said. “Women in Development is just one of the development issues that Tarrant County’s Credit Union has addressed this year and in doing so we’ve not only raised money for the Center for Transforming Lives, but feel that we’ve also raised awareness for their organization and good works.”

Throughout the year TCCU is involved in community projects that have positive impact. TCCU prides itself on giving back and works hard to ensure that the credit union philosophy of giving back is evident in each event or act of service.
