Tarrant County’s Credit Union gives back for the holidays

FORT WORTH, TX (January 17, 2017) — Tarrant County’s Credit Union collaborates with other North Texas credit unions and collects winter necessities for the Presbyterian Night Shelter.

TCCU along with credit unions within the Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions, including Alcon Federal Credit Union, Texas People Federal Credit Union and others, collected new socks and gently used and new blankets for the Presbyterian Night Shelter. The credit unions collected items during the month of December and presented the items to the night shelter on December 28th, 2016.

“I was pleased to see the outpouring of support from other credit unions within the Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions. I hope those at the Presbyterian Night Shelter can feel the love when they wrap up in a new blanket or put on new socks,” TCCU’s Business Development Coordinator, Melissa Burleson, said.

TCCU also collaborated with Fort Worth City Credit Union during the holidays and made peanut butter sandwiches for the Presbyterian Night Shelter. This was the first year the Fort Worth City Credit Union joined in on the TCCU holiday tradition.

“Presbyterian Night Shelter is so grateful to Tarrant County’s Credit Union for remembering our most vulnerable neighbors at the holidays. Their donations of sandwiches, socks and blankets will go a long way towards making life more comfortable for our clients,” Presbyterian Night Shelter’s VP of Development, Pamela Daubert, said.

Throughout the year TCCU gives back and actively participates in community efforts through projects that provide positive impact. TCCU thrives on giving back and encompasses the credit union philosophy in each endeavor.
