Tarrant County’s Credit Union offers intentional acts of kindness

FORT WORTH, TX (July 26, 2017) — Tarrant County’s Credit Union staff offers intentional acts of kindness with Hope Bags for county area homeless.

Tarrant County’s Credit Union’s (TCCU’s) core value system contains eight distinct values; the core value of Compassion was the focus during the month of July. The goal of this effort was to show compassion by carrying out intentional acts of kindness. Staff members put together Hope Bags for the homeless living in the Tarrant County area. These bags contained three pairs of socks, a toothbrush, toothpaste, lip balm, sanitizing hand wipes, a mini flash light, a granola Bar, and a $5 bill.

The Hope Bags were then distributed to TCCU’s four branch locations for staff to take and to distribute as intentional acts of kindness whenever they saw a need in the community.

TCCU staff members shared heart-warming stories about experiences giving away the Hope Bags.

“I saw this gentleman walking with a sleeping bag and a backpack. I was able to stop and give him one of the bags. He thanked me and said, ‘God bless you.’ It broke my heart when I saw him settle himself behind an Auto Zone,” TCCU staff member, Amanda W., said. “Delivering Hope Bags made me feel extremely blessed for what I have. Thank you for allowing us this opportunity to give back to our community.”

After the first deliveries were made, staff members asked to contribute to the cause with personal donations and payroll deduction to continue the Hope Bag and Intentional Acts of Kindness compassion project beyond the summer months.
