Taunton Federal Credit Union celebrates 70 years

TAUNTON, MA (January 9, 2017) — Taunton Federal Credit Union is proud to be celebrating 70 years of service! Established as the Taunton Municipal Federal Credit Union in November of 1947 by Gerard Bonenfant in the basement of City Hall, the credit union was initially established to serve City of Taunton employees. After acquiring several smaller credit unions in the 1980s, the credit union became known as Taunton Federal Credit Union. After receiving a community charter in 1995, TFCU was able to grow its service area and eventually moved to its current location on Church Green.

To celebrate, TFCU will host various events throughout the year as well as a 70th Anniversary Giveaway, offering 70 various prizes to TFCU members. The celebration will kick off at a special Member Appreciation day held at their main office on Friday, January 20th.

Please join TFCU as they celebrate their past and future, from TFCU’s roots in the basement of City Hall to Church Green & the vision of TFCU as a multi-faceted financial institution!
