TCU Insurance Agency acquires Summit Insurance
Acquisition creates agency’s first physical office serving central Indiana
SOUTH BEND, IN (September 8, 2016) — Teachers Credit Union (TCU) Insurance Agency is pleased to announce it has acquired the insurance business of Summit Insurance Agency, Inc., to grow its presence in central Indiana and gather new, highly satisfied clients from a well-respected agency. Effective August 16, 2016, the agency became Summit Insurance, a Division of TCU Insurance Agency, LLC, and the first physical location for TCU Insurance Agency in central Indiana.
Prior to the transaction, Summit Insurance Agency, Inc., an independent insurance agency specializing in personal and commercial insurance, has been in business in Indianapolis for more than 27 years. Going forward, the new Summit Insurance will continue offering its current plans and provide more options – a full line of personal, business, life and health insurance coverage – as an integral part of TCU Insurance Agency, and will leverage the more than 200 insurance companies TCU Insurance Agency represents.

TCU Insurance will retain all Summit employees and add two additional TCU Insurance Agency staff to provide support and proficiency for the new services in Indianapolis. Summit will also maintain its office at 9302 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis.
