(LAKE JACKSON, TEXAS) — When TDECU launched its new mobile banking apps in spring 2011, the credit union knew its technology-savvy members would embrace the new access tools. But they didn’t anticipate how quickly the new iPhone, iPad and Android apps would take off. Luckily, they were ready.
“In the first months after the applications’ launch in April, mobile subscribers grew 50% versus our target of 10% and the number of mobile transactions grew 30%,” said Brad Clutter, Online Banking Product Manager at TDECU. “Members in all 50 states and in 16 different countries are actively using the apps. We are thrilled with our members’ response – it’s more proof that we are providing the right services to meet our members’ needs.”
Netbanker recently released a list of the 65 Most Popular iPhone Apps from U.S. Banks and Other Financial Services Companies. In addition to the big bank names on the list, TDECU came in at #14. TDECU was ranked 39 in FI Rank, 105 in Finance Rank and 14 in iPad application. In addition, TDECU is one of only 16 organizations out of the top 65 to have an iPad app.
The TDECU Mobile Apps provide users the same functionality as the online banking platform, such as the ability to find ATMs and branches, view account balances, transfer money between accounts, manage TDECU credit cards, check rates and learn more about the credit union. It also lets users connect with TDECU online through Facebook and Twitter. Members can download the app to their smart phone for free by visiting the Android Marketplace, iTunes App Store or TDECU.org
In the continued spirit of innovation, TDECU unveiled a fresh new look for TDECU.org on Sept. 27, 2011. This more intuitive design offers easier navigation, fewer clicks to access information and more closely reflects the TDECU brand.
