(LAKE JACKSON, TEXAS) – With the looming prospect of the government not having enough money to cover its bills, TDECU is prepared to come to the aid of its members who are government employees or recipients of federal government benefits by offering a special Government Pay Interruption Loan.

Should government operations be disrupted on August 2, TDECU members with direct deposit can obtain TDECU’s special Government Pay Interruption Loan with a 0% interest rate for the first 30 days. After the initial 30-day period, the loan will convert to the current signature loan rate with a repayment term of an additional 11 months. The maximum loan amount will be equal to the amount of one net paycheck.

“It is our commitment to stand ready to assist our members should we be needed,” said Stephanie Sherrodd, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “We want to give our members peace of mind that their daily lives will not be disrupted if we can help it.”

The Government Pay Interruption Loan will be offered by TDECU only if the government halts operations and until checks are reissued by the government. TDECU members should contact the credit union for eligibility and qualification requirements.
