HAUPPAUGE, NY (September 13, 2019) — Brad Calhoun, President/CEO of Teachers Federal Credit Union (TFCU), one of the country’s largest credit unions, joined other CEOs and top executives from several Long Island companies to help build the 200thHabitat for Humanity Home in Suffolk County. On September 10, the group raised the walls of the home in Wyandanch on N. 26thStreet. The home building project, which was completed in three weeks, was the first “Blitz Build” since 2006 for Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk County.

“It was exhilarating for me as the President/CEO of TFCU to have the opportunity to work side by side with other business executives from across Long Island as well as the contractors in this Blitz Build project. It’s remarkable that it took us just three weeks to finish Habitat for Humanity’s 200th Home in Suffolk County,” said Brad Calhoun, President/CEO of TFCU.

Tracy Edwards, Executive Director of Habitat Humanity of Suffolk County, said that “the Wyandanch CEO Blitz Build offered a unique opportunity to build partnerships with contractors and Long Island business leaders. Building and raising the walls of this 1,400 sq. ft. house on September 10 was in keeping with our mission to transform people and communities.”
