The BA Group’s partnership with Rockin’ Robyn, Social Media Consultant, Benefits Credit Unions

NORTHFIELD, MN (November 14, 2013) — Looking to expand and provide even more services to clientele The BA Group, a national credit union marketing and media agency, recently partnered with Rockin’ Robyn Consulting, a social media marketing organization.

Throughout The BA Group’s growth over the last 8 years, CEO Amy Herbig continues to look for ways to enhance The BA Group’s services to credit unions and saw both the growing potential and need for social media consulting. Herbig says, “For a credit union to do social media well they must utilize the plethora of capabilities, particularly Facebook, that social media offers.”

Robyn Gamboa, owner of Rockin’ Robyn Consulting, is the former Vice President of Member Service and Marketing at Tucson Old Pueblo Credit Union (TOPCU) where she worked on numerous marketing and service initiatives. Under her direction and in conjunction with The BA Group, TOPCU brought their rebranding process to life and reconnected the credit union with their founding roots. Robyn is also credited with instituting data-based marketing initiatives, deploying effective strategic marketing plans, and introducing social media to TOPCU. It soon became clear to her that there was a need in the credit union industry for advice about and management of social media platforms.

Gamboa says, “Developing and implementing an effective social media marketing strategy is not an easy task. You can’t just set up social media channels and expect to get results; it takes a solid strategy and a social media action plan.” In August 2013, Robyn decided to focus her efforts on helping organizations with their marketing and social media and created Rockin‘ Robyn Consulting. Her unique skill set allows her to approach marketing from a holistic view of the organization and offer distinct solutions for each client.

The relationship between Gamboa and The BA Group steadily flourished from their days working in conjunction at TOPCU, so when the idea of a partnership between Rockin’ Robyn and The BA Group arose it seemed intuitive. Herbig says that “marketing is not just creative for the sake of being creative, but everything has to have a strategy, goals, and measurement capabilities. You can absolutely apply this approach to social media.” The BA Group looks to further develop its organization by partnering with Robyn to collectively lead social media management, execution, and tracking in-house for various credit unions.

Gamboa says, “As a former credit union VP I know the ins and outs of credit unions. I know what it is like to be a Marketing VP and all of the competing demands and depth of expertise that is required to be successful. My social media service compliments the current services offered by The BA Group. Our partnership makes it possible for credit unions to seamlessly integrate social media into their marketing mix.”

Robyn has now worked with a few of The BA Group’s clients, including Pioneer Federal Credit Union (PFCU), headquartered in Mountain Home, ID, which is approximately $460M in assets. Elizabeth Thomas, the Vice President of Marketing at PFCU, says, “Our previous social media management company was very limited in what they offered for services and any additional pieces we wanted to add were always an extra cost. Since bringing Rockin’ Robyn into our existing relationship with The BA Group we’ve experienced a dramatic improvement in our social media efforts. Gamboa says one of the most exciting things about her job is “discovering new ways to deploy social media to help credit unions reach their members. I dedicate time every day to stay on top of new trends and research best practices. I also enjoy taking something off the plate of the credit union marketing department so that they can focus on other items.”
